Local olive producer has been quietly achieving – GOLD!

Local olive oil producers, Lyn and Andrew Jamieson from Golden Creek Olives in Fish Creek have just won Gold at the Australian Olive Association’s National Olive Industry Awards in Tasmania.

This is a fantastic accomplishment.  The Association’s National Conference and Trade Exhibition brings together national and international experts to discuss the latest in technology and research. The industry also gathers at this time to celebrate the season’s success at their Gala Awards and this year, hosted in Hobart, the 17th National Extra Virgin Olive Oil Presentation Dinner.

Lyn and Andrew were delighted to attract a Gold award for their estate-grown and processed Arbequina/Picual blend and Bronze awards for each of their Leccino and Frantoio olive oil varieties in Class 1 – Single Estate.

Golden Creek Olives has consistently received awards on a National level for their extra virgin olive oils. These awards confirm what local Southern Gippsland Olives growers have believed for four years now; that the soil and climate of South Gippsland consistently produces great extra virgin olive oils with aroma and taste characteristics that are amongst the best in the Australia.
